FIRST FLIGHT serves as a springboard to assist new plays in their creative development. Each selected play is paired with a director and given multiple days of rehearsal, with space between for re-writes and additional process. At the completion of rehearsal, each play is presented for a supportive invited audience.

The website states as of 10/19/20: We are no longer taking submissions for First Flight. We are backlogged with scripts. Please do not send any new work at this time.
The contest ended in November of 2022. Since most deadlines are around that time, I decided to put the 2023 deadline in November.
As of November 2023, no update on 2024.
