Comments from NMI Staff:
The Foundation’s grant making focuses on improving the quality of life in the greater Philadelphia region through efforts that foster rich cultural expression, strengthen children’s efforts that foster rich cultural expression, strengthen children’s futures, and deepen connections to nature and community. Grants are awarded in the following topic areas: children, youth, and families; environment and communities; and arts and culture. Funding priorities for arts and culture grants include growing a robust cultural community and leveraging strategic opportunities. Virtually all of the Foundation’s grant making takes place in the counties of Bucks, Camden, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia. The Foundation will also consider requests for projects that, although administered by an organization located outside of the region, are expressly for the benefit of the region and its constituents. The Foundation occasionally makes grants to national organizations for work performed by local affiliates.
