Visual Text <span style="text-decoration: underline">Leave The Cannoli</span> is a musical comedy that reveals how the horsehead got into the producer's bed in The Godfather. Two low-level mobsters screw up a simple hit job and, as punishment, are given the worst assignment in the history of organized crime. They must: <ul> <li>Sneak into a producer’s compound in the middle of the night</li> <li>Gain access to the world's most valuable racehorse</li> <li>Kill it and cut off its head</li> <li>Then enter the producer's mansion and slip it under his bedcovers without waking him up.</li> </ul> Realizing the job is too big for the two of them, they assemble a team of quirky experts to help them. Their lives depend on the successful completion of the mission. Besides developmental table reads, we have presented staged readings at The Crane Theater, The Actor's Temple and Urban Stages.</span></p> The script was developed by Gary in the BMI Librettist Workshop. <em>NOTE: Though set in the world of The Godfather, <u>Leave The Cannoli</u> does not use any characters, dialogue, or scenes from the movie series. It’s more like Rosencrantz & Guildenstern -- the story behind the story everybody knows.</em> BIOS: (biographies for the members of your team) Visual Text GARY APPLE is a comedy writer with multiple credits in theater, sitcoms, and animation, including <u>The Simpsons</u>. He wrote the book, music and lyrics for <u>Christmas In Hell</u>, an award-wining show which ran Off-Broadway at The York Theatre (2018) and in Las Vegas (2022). Samuel French publishes four of his one-act plays, which have received hundreds of productions nationwide. He’s a member of the BMI Musical Theater Workshop and the BMI Librettist Workshop. LOGAN MEDLAND is the writer, composer and lyricist of <u>Fingers and Toes</u> (NYMF 2010) and three subsequent Equity productions.
